Birthday in the City

I'm afraid I haven't been a very good updater lately. Here's the quick version: Had a fun two weeks with my family, then I moved to Washington D.C. ! Now that I'm settled I'll be writing more regularly again :)

I love it here. I haven't done too much so far. My second day here was my birthday (22!) so I slept in and let myself be spoiled! It was weird not being at home for my birthday, but it was a really fun day. It was almost like having two birthdays since I had a birthday celebration at home too! In Texas my family bought me 80s scene it, and we went to see the Menil collection and Rothko Chapel amongst other things. Here my aunts bought me Georgetown Cupcakes (so delicious) and we went out for dinner at a French restaurant called Mon Ami Gabi.

Here is a picture of my aunts' favorite kind of cupcake from Georgetown Cupcakes, Red Velvet.

I love this city. It's a lot of fun. Plus I love living with my aunts. Also I started my job yesterday and it's fantastic! Everyone in my department is so nice and fun to work with :) Especially my boss!

Currently watching: The Closer
Currently obsessing over: Coconut M&Ms, They are hard to find so when I do find them I buy them in bulk. Today I bought 6 bags.

  4. Wow, Mimi, that you have moved to DC! Way cool. I always thought I would travel and work cool places before I was married. ha.
I'll just have to live those dreams through through you, I guess. Good luck with your new job! What is it?
